AI? Yes. With judgement.
We work with language models and machine learning every day. That is exactly why we don’t sell them as magic.
We start from the problem, and only then ask whether AI is the simplest way to solve it. Often it isn’t, and we tell you so.
We’ve written about what is really changing, and what is just noise, in AI in SME operations.
→ we use it when it solves a problem
There is data, there is context, and there is a problem that genuinely benefits from it: reading information out of documents, classifying, forecasting, supporting decisions, taking away repetitive work.
→ we hold back when it complicates things
If there is a simpler way, that is the one we take. Forcing AI where it isn’t needed makes everything more expensive, more fragile and harder to maintain.
Where AI
actually helps.
- “We get hundreds of documents and someone reads them one by one.”
- “Requests come in by email and have to be sorted by hand.”
- “We have years of data and we still go with our gut.”
- “We were told we need AI, but nobody knows what for.”
From problem to model,
never the other way round.
Assess
We check whether there is data, context and a measurable gain. If a simple rule does the job, that’s what we build.
Read and file documents
Invoices, orders, contracts: we pull out the information and hand it to the right system, with a human check wherever a mistake is costly.
Classify and forecast
Sorting requests, forecasting demand, supporting decisions, always with the result explained to whoever decides.
Connect it to your systems
A model on its own changes nothing. We connect its output to the systems and automations already in place.
Curious how the rest of the market sounds?
AI is a tool. The point is how your business runs.
So we measure the gain before we build, and the AI we deliver stays connected to your systems and is maintained like everything else we build.
Who it
makes sense for.
✓ it makes sense if
- there is volume: documents, requests or records running into the hundreds;
- the data exists and is accessible;
- the cost of a mistake is known and a human can check the result;
- you want to know first whether it’s worth it.
✗ it doesn’t if
- you want AI because it’s fashionable, with no concrete problem;
- you need a demo for the next meeting;
- there is no data, and no way of collecting it.
We’ve written
about this.
